Produced and choreographed by Gary Lloyd, the Thriller musical is a live tribute to Michael Jackson and his music, which has now become his legacy. Many of Jackson's songs include the classics “ABC', “Thriller”, “Rock With You” “Bad”, etc. and then his more recent songs that he had originally planned to perform on a world tour before his untimely death. Depending on the individual listener, the performances may tend to leave the impression that you have just attended a Michael Jackson concert, although no one can duplicate the King of Pop.
Held at the Lyric Theatre in London, the Thriller musical is really a concert that is focused on the music milestones instead of details of Jackson's life. Starting with the Jackson 5 and ending with a mature and more polished artist, the concert covers his transition of musical style such as blues to Motown, disco, pop, etc. There is also a transition of dancing style during the musical numbers throughout the show. Even without dialogue, the musical is about more than musical entertainment...it is about music history and appreciation.
