Formerly known as the London Bridge Tower the 95-story London skyscraper, the Shard is London's newest attraction. It was built in 2009 and opened to the public on February 1, 2013. It is now the 2nd tallest building in Europe. The tower pyramid-shaped was designed by Italian architect, Renzo Piano and has 72 floors with a viewing gallery and an observation deck.
Although the ancient, historic buildings in London are wonderful, the Shard adds a modern flair which seems to create a breath of fresh air to the city. Its offices provide a great working environment and gorgeous 360 degree view of the city up to 40 miles long! After recent completion, the Shard has already appeared in a couple of movies and has the potential to draw millions annually while bringing in strong revenue.
